The Chiavari chair, also known as the Tiffany chair, is a wooden chair of Ligurian design. We find that this chair is popular in lime wash and white. Created in the early 1880s in the north western Italian coast, this chair displays its true origin and looks accordingly. This is the most versatile chair in the events industry, there are so many ways in which one can decorate or accessorise the Tiffany chair.
The chair is designed with each component made for the specific stresses it will carry. Descalzi designed a slot system for the construction and a system to tie the strips of the purple willow which form the seat of the chair directly to the frame.
